Tjotjos?
It's pronounced "Judges" — like in a courtroom.
Sophia is the granddaughter of Greek immigrants (Papandreas) who arrived from the islands of Chios and Ikaria shortly after WWI. Her husband Chris is the son of Greek immigrants who arrived from the island of Samos shortly after WWII.
When Chris’ father immigrated through Ellis Island, his Greek name was incorrectly recorded creating the current American spelling. Sophia and her family are very active today in Greek-American organizations for each of their islands and have a family home on Samos.
